Project Controls Supervisor, Chennai Execution Centre

1. What factors influenced your decision to join Foster Wheeler?

I worked for a client organisation and wanted to join an EPC organisation because of the challenges that I could expect. I heard a lot of positive comments from a project controls employee about Foster Wheeler India, its culture, ability to execute international projects, friendly environment, etc.

2. What projects have you been involved with?

I have been involved in an EPC contract for a condensate refinery in the Middle East, the FEED for a major refinery project in India, and a new chemicals complex in Singapore. This gave me an opportunity to develop systems and procedures to meet world-class standards in last three years.

3. What do you think Foster Wheeler offers you in your career that other companies could not?

The environment is transparent and that makes me comfortable to interact with other employees. Foster Wheeler has high level of ethical standards which I think is very important. The work environment is friendly and I have the independence to handle and execute tasks.

4. What are your memories of your first week on the job?

I joined from a client-based Indian organisation. I was excited to see the systems that were in place and I learnt at a quick pace to adhere to such an environment.

5. What has been the high point of your time with the company so far?

In most of the companies, project controls focuses more on planning activities. But in Foster Wheeler I had an equal chance to work with costing activities as well. I’ve also developed my skills significantly in this area over the last couple of years.
