Our History
Foster Wheeler’s Indian operation was initially established in Chennai by Foster Wheeler Global Power Group in the year 1998 with a focus on power projects.
Since then, Foster Wheeler India has grown tremendously, not only in size, but in reputation and in the scope of work it executes. Our Indian operation is now a thriving and integral part of our Global Engineering and Construction Group and, since January 2005, has been sponsored by our UK-headquartered operation, the largest operation in our Global E&C Group.
We’ve gone from strength to strength in India. In November 2006, we opened an operation in Kolkata, which has also grown very successfully in a short period.
We have recently opened an office in Gurgaon in May 2009.
Our Indian operation is an integral part of our global project execution strategy. Using an effective workshare execution methodology, Foster Wheeler India has executed over 4 million manhours of work since 2005 on projects around the world, in oil and gas, LNG, refining and chemicals.
One of the key qualities that has always characterized Foster Wheeler India is vision, backed up by expertise and long-term commitment.
Today, Foster Wheeler India has about 1,400 employees in Chennai and Kolkata and continues to invest in attracting, training and retaining talented professionals.
