Principal Buyer - Procurement, CEC

1. Why did you decide to join Foster Wheeler?

I heard about a culture in Foster Wheeler that I had not experienced in my previous organisations. As a result of my experience and competency FW employed me in a lead role which my previous organization did not offer despite the potential I had. FW was also able to commit to me that I will have only short term assignments which suited me better and hence I decided to join.

2. And your skills, how have they developed?

FW recognised my potential from my previous experience and decided to hire me for a lead role. More importantly, the first project I led was for the same client that I had worked for previously and FW recognised the fact that I would be able to lead the project successfully. I also appreciated the confidence that FW had in me to lead a project within a short time of joining.

3. What do you think FW offers you in your career that other companies could not?

The overall culture in FW is good and that is something I’ve not experienced in the past. FW recognises & rewards for competent performance. In this way FW is quite open and transparent.

4. How would you sum up your current role if you were talking to a friend?

I talk a lot about culture of FW and the quality of projects we execute. I advise my friends to try for an employment opportunity with FW as we steadily keep growing. I also share about the responsibilities and authority one has in the projects and the independence to make decisions.

5. What has been the high point of your time with the company so far?

I was one of the participants in the Leadership Development Program conducted in 2007. I was fortunate to be a part of the team and as a result I recognise the importance of my role in the organisation.
